"Ablass" festival in Thamsbrück

Annually recurring at the first weekend of July the district Thamsbrück celebrates in front of the gates of the cure city , the presumably oldest festival of the area, the "Ablass" festival. It originates from the Middle Ages. The schedule of the celebration is organized by the "Ablassburschen". The tattoo of the civil guard on Saturday, the walk to the "Rieth" and the storming of the city on Sunday, the hauling of the "Tetzel", the "Tetzelwagenumzug", the "Ablasspredikt" and the "Altweibermühle" on Monday belong to the highlights of the event.
