Zimmern
The small district Zimmern with 371 inhabitants is situated directly at the southeast spur of the „Hainich“ and was incorporated in 1994.

The church was inaugurated in 1700 and carries the name of the holy Martin. The tower is high above the village which nestles itself closely into the valley of the Orbaches and the Craulaer creek. The creek which flows through the village originates from here.
For the memory of an event from the Thirty Years‘ War - a soldier and a butcher killed each other in a quarrel - a butcher axe and a dagger is represented in a residential building. 450 hectare of the district Zimmern is located in the national park „Hainich“.
