Aschara
The district Aschara is 7,7 km far away from Bad Langensalza and counts 874 inhabitants. On 01.01.1994 Aschara was incorporated.
In 786 it was mentioned for the first time. Since September 1995 a trade fair is taking place at the former agricultural producers‘ cooperative. On the extensive commercial area now private companies are resident. Immediately at the main road the church St.Petri is situated, which was built in 1749.Inside the church one sees the organ created by the organ maker Heinrich Gottfried Trost. For 200 years a simple fountain cymbal from silicate brick stands in front of the church. Officially the spring is called "Fountain near the church", however, it is known in town as "flea fountain". The remains of an old inscription - presumably the date of the construction - is still recognizable with trouble, but not to interpret anymore.
